Auxilium pro Regionibus Europae in Rebus Culturalibus (AUXILIUM) is a non profit education research, development and adult education institution founded in 2004 in Graz, Austria.

Auxilium has been known for its innovative and high quality contributions to the European lifelong learning arena. The main focus of Auxiliums' research and development activities is oriented towards European transparency and education co-operation approaches (e.g. EQF, ECVET, NQF etc.) and especially also the development of approaches and methods for the identification and recognition of informal learning processes and outcomes. Besides this Auxilium has been clearly focusing on the use and integration of modern information and communication technologies in different education processes and with a strong emphasis on the digital learning of adults. On this basis, Auxilium has gathered vast experiences and built-up broad expertise in the planning and implementation of innovative development projects on European level.

Additionally, Auxilium is engaged in several multilateral co-operation projects as external evaluator applying a comprehensive evaluation and quality management strategy to ensure good process, product and impact quality of co-operation projects.

Beyond this, Auxilium has established a huge network of local, regional, national and European partner organisations and is closely co-operating with most of the regional adult education providers as well as with the Municipality of Graz (Department of Employment), the Federal Government of the Province of Styria (Department for European Affairs and Education), the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz (Department for Adult and Further Education) and Styrian Association of Municipalities and Cities.

Project managers, pedagogy experts

Seven European projects usually lasting 2, mostly Erasmus+ KA2, but also KA1 and Europe for Citizens. Among other areas we are engaged in course development and intercultural exchange.

Youth mobility (KA1): organisation of international internships for VET students

Most recently, our ECVETgoesBusiness project (www.ecvetgoesbusiness.eu, finished in late 2017) was awarded as best practice success story by the Austrian National Agency and received the Erasmus+ Award 2018 Education in the category Strategic Partnerships. In the course of the project, a handbook and a training course for HR staff were developed on the basis of a thorough research study among the target groups. The main aim was to raise awareness of EU transparency tools and how they can be applied in everyday HR processes.

Have you previously hosted an intern? Is it a possibility in your organisation?

Yes, we have hosted interns before and are happy to do so again. Internships are a great way for people to get to know new fields of interest of to explore areas they are dreaming of working in. Ideally and in most cases, an internship is mutually beneficial.
