The Pan-Hellenic Association of Adapted Activities "ALMA" is a non-profit organization, with decision number 4533/1996, registered in the National Register of Non-Profit Private Sector Bodies of the Ministry of Health, while being a certified primary and secondary care provider.

Created in 1996 with the purpose of education and creative activities for persons with mental retardation and autism, through educational, sporting and cultural activities targeting to their psychosocial development and integration into a society of equal opportunities. Our programs promote the autonomous and dignified living of people with disabilities, aiming at raising the awareness of the community. Our main structures are: (a) Day Care Center for Children and Adolescents with Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders, (b) The Creative Activities Club for Children, adolescents and adults with Disabilities, and (c) House of supported Living, where 4 young people with disability reside permanently. 

Our Day Care Center operates under the "Psychargos" program as a Daily Therapeutic Care Unit aiming to strengthen the psychosocial rehabilitation of children and adolescents aged 2.5-18 and as a family support counseling station.

The Creative Activities Club provides phycomotor activities, music & folk dances, visual arts, educational games, outdoor activities, museum visits, theaters - cinemas and cultural events, daily life skills programs and support and communication groups.

In our House of Supported Living, which is licensed by the Attica Region and housed in an appropriately designed apartment in P. Faliro, reside permanently 4 people with disability with the care of well skilled staff.

Our Sports Club has designed and offers comprehensive sports and entertainment programs such as swimming, horseback riding, bowling, athletics, cycling, as well as multi-day excursion and camping programs that promote semi-autonomous living. It is worth mentioning that our Association implements a series of events that aim to inform the community raise awareness of the community and diversity acceptance.

Our association is housed in properly designed rented premises. Some of our programs are hosted in premises of the Municipality of P. Faliro. ALMA Association possesses all the necessary educational material and employs very well qualified and experienced scientific and support staff members. For our needs we use two minivans.

The Association employs specialized and experienced scientific and support staff.. Our team consists of Child Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, Speech Therapists & Occupational Therapists, Special Educators, Psychologists, Special Education Practitioners and Administrative Staff.

Have you previously hosted an intern? Is it a possibility in your organisation?

Our association cooperates with educational foundations of Universities, and Vocational Training Institutes (I.E.K.) hosting students for practical training and real work experience. This action has been implemented for many years and will continue to be implemented.

Also through European programs, our Association participates in training and acquisition of work experience for mental health professionals. These programs are implemented in collaboration with a number of partners (such as Non-Profit Organizations, Foundations) in various European countries, under the umbrela of the Erasmus+ programme.
